Campers will be placed in groups and spend every morning rotating through different stations. Each station is designed to help players learn and master a different skill required to be a great player including: Shooting, Passing, Dribbling, Rebounding, Defense, and more.
Players will compete in two league games every day for a total of 10 games throughout the week. This is more games and experience than many local leagues offer in an entire season. Leagues and teams will be split up by age group, and will encourage fast paced competition.
Named after basketball legend "Pistol" Pete Maravich, the Pistol Series is a set of ball handling drills designed to improve players hand speed, coordination, and overall control of the basketball.
Dribble series is 20-30 minutes daily of nothing but dribbling! This series will not only reinforce the basic fundamentals of dribbling, but also push players to learn new and challenging moves and combinations.
Based on age and skill level, players will be placed into 1-on-1 groups and compete against each other daily. Prime has always believed that playing 1-on-1 is a major key to a young players development. Campers will compete for seeding Mon-Thurs with the goal of winning their group tournament on Friday and being crowned champion!
Each day, players will sit down and be exposed a short lecture that covers a new defensive concept taught by camp director Mitch Allan, and other standout coaches from around the area.
Free throws and fast breaks are an overlooked, but essential part of the game of basketball. The best players in the world capitalize on these easy in-game opportunities, and Prime Camp will teach our players how to do the same.
Prime's camp offers a great blend of fun, learning, and competition that is great for both year-round and new players alike.
Camp will be run by Prime's program director Mitch Allan. Assisting him will be a talented and well qualified mix of coaches and former players from the surrounding Southlake/Grapevine area.
Players will participate in 10 games per week, which is more in-game practice than many local leagues offer in an entire season! Campers will be placed on teams and compete against other teams of similar age and skill level every day of the week.
